1. Eligibility and account responsibilities

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, and all activity that occurs through your account.

• Keep your email address and password current and secure.
• Do not share your account with another person.
• Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

2. Acceptable use

You may use friendin.city only for lawful, personal, and internal travel-planning purposes. You may not use the service in a way that interferes with other users, violates applicable law, or misuses the underlying data and systems.

• Do not scrape, copy at scale, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the service’s datasets, prompts, or security mechanisms.
• Do not upload or submit unlawful, harmful, infringing, or deceptive content.
• Do not use the service to generate spam, impersonation, fraud, or other abusive activity.

3. Premium plans and payments

friendin.city may offer fixed-term premium access plans with durations of 2 weeks, 1 month, and 3 months. Each plan is a one-time fixed-term purchase and does not renew automatically.

Payments are processed through Stripe. The applicable price, taxes, and payment details are shown at checkout before you complete your purchase.

Premium features are generally activated promptly after successful payment confirmation.

• There is no automatic renewal.
• Your access ends automatically at the end of the purchased term unless you buy another plan.
• Refunds are not provided except where required by applicable law or where we determine a refund is legally necessary due to a service-side fault.

4. AI recommendations and third-party information

friendin.city combines curated source metadata with AI-generated responses. Recommendations are provided for informational and planning purposes only. They may be incomplete, unavailable, delayed, or inaccurate.

You remain responsible for independently verifying opening hours, reservation availability, accessibility, pricing, safety conditions, location details, and the suitability of any recommendation for your needs.

• We do not guarantee that a place is open, available, safe, or appropriate for your specific circumstances.
• We do not act as your travel agent, booking intermediary, or fiduciary.
• Third-party services such as OpenAI, Google Maps, Stripe, Neon, and Resend may support parts of the service experience.

5. Intellectual property and source materials

The service, including its software, design, curation, trademarks, and original compilations, is owned by or licensed to the operator of friendin.city and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Publications, articles, books, maps, and other third-party source materials referenced through the service remain the property of their respective owners. friendin.city presents curated metadata, commentary, and outbound references rather than reproducing source publications in full.

• You may use the service for your own personal, non-commercial travel planning.
• You may not republish, resell, or systematically reproduce the service’s content without permission.

6. Suspension, termination, and account closure

We may suspend or terminate access to the service if we reasonably believe you breached these Terms, created legal or security risk, or used the service in a fraudulent or abusive manner.

You may request account closure by contacting [CONTACT_EMAIL]. Because there is no in-product deletion flow at this time, we handle closure and deletion requests manually.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the aggregate liability of the operator of friendin.city arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the specific plan that gave rise to the claim or (b) JPY 10,000.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited under applicable law.

8. Governing law, venue, and language

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

The Tokyo District Court or the Tokyo Summary Court will have the exclusive jurisdiction of first instance over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service, depending on the amount in controversy.

The English version of these Terms controls if there is any inconsistency between language versions.
